| large glass jar | freshly cut pine needles (don't forget to thank the tree!) | olive oil (or your fav oil) to fill the jar | cut pine needles using a course grinder or scissors | fill jar with pine needles | top up with oil of your choice | infuse for 8 months | shake it baby once a week | strain and enjoy! |
*for those of you who are like wtf 8 months there is a speedier version -
| place your jar full of oil and pine needles into a small saucepan or crockpot | fill the saucepan with water leaving a bit of clearance so the contents of your jar is water free | turn heat to low | allow to simmer for 2+ hours | check your water levels often as it evaporates fast! | stir occasionally to keep your pine needles from burning and to disperse them for maximum infusion-ability | allow to cool before use |
when i make a fresh batch of pine oil the first place i apply it to is my feet! especially on a cold day after a long walk... i have tingles just thinking about it!
please X2: don't ever ingest infused oils, especially essential oils!
if you ever come across pine resin never collect from the tree as it is using it to heal - search around the base of the trunk and you'll likely find little pearls of it to take with you.
